Responsibilities

Job SummaryThe Program Director - Neurovascular Sonography is a leadership role responsible for developing and governing HonorHealth's Neurosonography program while performing advanced Transcranial Doppler (TCD) procedures. This hybrid position combines program oversight with clinical execution, ensuring systemwide protocol standardization, accreditation compliance, and strategic alignment with the Stroke Program. Essential Functions
  • Program Leadership & Governance:
Design and implement systemwide neurosonography protocols, including advanced TCD modalities (emboli detection, vasomotor reactivity, continuous monitoring).Develop governance structure for neurovascular diagnostics across inpatient, outpatient, and procedural settings.Chair Neurosonography governance meetings and align with Stroke Program leadership.
  • Clinical Execution:
Perform advanced TCD procedures and serve as the primary resource for complex neurosonography cases.Support ICU and OR teams with intraoperative and critical care neurovascular monitoring.
  • Training & Competency:
Develop and deliver training programs for sonographers and physicians.Validate competency and maintain continuing education pathways.
  • Quality & Compliance:
Monitor performance metrics and ensure adherence to accreditation standards (Joint Commission, AHA/ASA).Lead quality improvement initiatives tied to stroke program KPIs. Education
  • Bachelor's degree - Required
  • Master's degree - Required
Experience
  • 10+ years of Neurosonography experience, including advanced TCD techniques; proven ability to lead programs while maintaining clinical practice.
License and Certifications
  • RVT - Required
  • Neurosonology Certification - Preferred
