The Fee Schedule Coordinator is responsible for various functions related to the accuracy payer reimbursement terms and updated fee schedules. This role will be responsible for routine procurement and interpretation of fee schedules and analyzing performance trends from contracted rates. This role will develop and maintain long-term productive relationships with practices in The US Oncology Network and third-party payers to drive lifecycle workflows. In addition, this position will work with the Manager of Payer Lifecycle Integrity to lifecycle workflows.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain accurate payer reimbursement terms and fee schedules:

  • Interpret payer contracts to extract key reimbursement terms and catalog for easy accessibility.

  • Set reminders within the utilized application (Smartsheet) in accordance with the payer's established cadence of updating the fee schedule(s). Obtain proprietary payer fee schedules or contracted rates in accordance with the payer's established process of obtaining the fee schedule(s) via email, fax, provider portal, website, or any other process, as required by payer.

  • Retrieve all applicable federal and state rates and fee schedules, including but not limited to, CMS (manual pull of provider rates, ASP, Lab fee schedule) and Medicaid fee schedules.

  • Upload fee schedule(s) and reimbursement documentation into appropriate systems.

  • Store fee schedules and applicable documentation into a centralized location, as specified.

  • Confirm on a defined basis that all terms within the utilized application (Smartsheet) are accurate and up to date.

  • Work with databases, spreadsheets, or other digital tools to ensure that all relevant information is easily accessible when needed.

Collaborate with internal teams and external teams:

  • Communicate fee schedule updates to several internal and external departments that support The US Oncology Network, including but not limited to, Analytics, Revenue Cycle, Pharmacy and Business Systems.

  • Collaborate with multiple internal and external groups which contribute to this business (US Oncology operations, Finance, Pharmacy Solutions, Revenue Cycle, VBC Transformation, and Medically Integrated Pharmacy, third party vendor) to monitor performance trends and identify opportunities and potential headwinds.

Minimum Requirement

Typically requires 3+ years of related experience.

Education

Associate's degree or higher level preferred, but high school graduate with the minimum job qualifications above would be considered.

Critical Skills

  • 3 or 5 years of professional experience related to managed care, revenue cycle, healthcare administration, or oncology or multispecialty practice operations.

  • Interpretation of contract terms

  • Comprehension of medical revenue cycle and billing processes.

  • Dependable and able to balance multiple priorities and accomplish tasks under tight deadlines.

  • Experience developing relationships with decision-makers in the payer, third-party administrator, and specialty practice environments. Experience working for a community-based health provider or related organization, with an understanding of the complete payer lifecycle; preferable experience in contracting or revenue cycle.

  • Abilities to identify and comprehend the payer lifecycle through data analysis and interpretation.

Additional Skills

  • Knowledge of coordinating activities, exchanging information, and clarifying needs of various stakeholders

  • Experience in Oncology or specialty practice environment

  • Excellent organization and time management skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and with people at all levels in an organization

  • Ability to build relationships

  • Ability to exercise initiative, judgment, and decision-making skills

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams) as well as adaptability for new systems

  • Ability to work remotely

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. $18.46 - $30.76
