uada.edu Summary of Job Duties:The Program Associate-Professional Development provides support for the professional growth of our organization's employees and the quality of our programs. The Program Associate-Professional Development works under the direction of the Associate Professor-Professional Development and on teams with other faculty and staff in Community, Professional, and Economic Development (CPED).

Duties and responsibilities include support of:
*Employee onboarding systems
*Professional development systems that provide training and support for employees as they navigate their extension career pathway
*Leadership development systems in conjunction with the Arkansas Leadership Cultivation Center.
*Material and curriculum resource creation or management for Extension faculty and staff related to program planning, implementation, and evaluation, in conjunction with the Office of Organizational Accountability and Evaluation
*Efforts to assess state and local needs and inform program and organizational priorities, in conjunction with the Office of Organizational Accountability and Evaluation
*Pursuing extramural funding to support Professional Development programs
*The Program Associate-Professional Development will also:
oTake initiative and work independently
oPursue professional development relevant to responsibilities
oUtilize excellent oral and written communication skills
*The Program Associate-Professional Development may also assist with other duties within their experience and abilities to:
oTeach effectively using a variety of in-person and E-learning instructional strategies
oWork creatively, collaboratively, and professionally in an interdisciplinary university environment

CPED fulfills organizational support functions in the areas of navigating the extension career pathway, professional development, program development, organizational accountability, and program evaluation. The unit also is also responsible for education programs and support for county extension agents in the areas of leadership development; public issues education and local government; business development and support; community, workforce, and economic development; and E-learning and professional development. Qualifications:

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in a related field plus three (3) years of relevant professional experience, or a related Master's degree is required.
  • Experience in program management or logistics.
  • Ability to contribute to and lead teams to accomplish long-term goals

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree.
  • Degree(s) in extension; agriculture; family & consumer sciences; youth development; education; recreation; natural resources; staff, professional, leadership, or human resource development; or similar.
  • Relevant experience in extension; agriculture; family & consumer sciences; youth development; education; recreation; natural resources; staff, professional, leadership, or human resource development; or similar.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, data management, & email programs
  • Ability to develop & deliver quality presentations
  • Ability to exercise initiative, make sound judgments, and work without close supervision
  • Ability to respond to the needs of supervisors, teammates, subordinates, & clientele.
