The Department of Physiology and Cellular Biophysics has an outstanding opportunity for a Senior Staff Associate I in the Doulatov Lab. As part of the Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center and Edward P. Evans MDS Center, the Doulatov Lab studies the fundamental mechanisms by which blood cancers arise and develop from healthy blood-forming stem cells by employing induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC) and other advanced models. The Senior Staff Associate will be responsible for lab administration, management and organization, as well as working closely and collaboratively with PI, trainees, and staff to contribute to ongoing research projects. This individual will be responsible for lab management and organization to ensure that the lab and research projects are running smoothly. This includes administrative tasks, including ordering supplies and managing budgets, maintaining inventory of supplies and samples and lab equipment. Tasks include preparing common reagents, receiving and processing primary samples, iPSC reprogramming, managing the mouse colony, and training students and staff. The individual will also be working with the PI and staff to contribute to research projects and publications. The ideal candidate will have strong laboratory research experience related to hematopoiesis, cancer, and/or stem cells, prior publications, and demonstrate excellent technical, communication, and organizational skills.
