Job Description




As a Security Officer - Alarm Panel Specialist in West Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal in a dynamic tech and media environment, you will monitor entrances and exits, manage badge and alarm systems, and provide a welcoming presence to everyone on site. You will conduct routine patrols and help to deter security-related incidents by remaining highly visible and approachable. What You'll Do:

  • Monitor and control access to the premises, verifying identification and credentials for employees, visitors, and contractors in a technology-focused environment.
  • Provide customer service by addressing inquiries and guiding individuals regarding site-specific protocols and procedures.
  • Carry out security-related procedures and follow site-specific policies, including during emergency response situations.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating issues as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
  • Document and report all security-related incidents, observations, and activities according to Allied Universal and client requirements.
  • Collaborate with site staff and Allied Universal team members to maintain a secure and orderly environment.
  • Utilize electronic access control systems, surveillance technology, and other security-related tools as required by the location.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
