Complete Description

As a CT Technologist, you will be responsible for the following duties:



  • Confirm patient identity and exam verification prior to initiating the scan, strictly adhering to department policy and procedure for patient safety.
  • Coordinate with physicians to provide diagnostic imaging.
  • Prepare patients for scans and explain the procedure to help them feel comfortable.
  • Insert IVs when necessary for the test.
  • Position patients accordingly, which may include lifting or moving patients with limited mobility; must utilize safe patient handling.
  • Maintain accurate patient record keeping by properly documenting all necessary components within EPIC to include identifying images and assuring images are sent to the PACS system correctly upon exam completion.
  • Maintain a clean and safe scanning facility.


Requirements

  • Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology and maintains Certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • NYS licensure (must obtain PRIOR to starting position).
  • Two (2) Years' Experience.
  • Level 1 Trauma Center Experience.
  • BLS (American Heart Association ONLY).


Preferred

  • Injection certification preferred - must be willing to complete during orientation process.
  • Knowledge of Philips and Siemens equipment preferred.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • A patient and compassionate disposition.
  • Team player who can maintain a cohesive working environment.


Skills

  • Level I Trauma Experience: Required, 2 Years.
  • CT Tech License (NY ONLY): Required.
  • BLS (American Heart Association ONLY): Required.
  • Two (2) years experience: Required, 2 Years.
  • Siemens Scanner Experience: Required, 6 Months.
  • Epic Experience: Highly desired, 1 Year.
