Description

The Masker III performs operations dictated by specific processes to prepare substrates for Parylene coating, including cleaning, surface preparation, and masking. After the coating process, performs demasking, inspection and packaging as required by the specific processes for the product. Masker III is able to successfully mask and demask a high number of the most difficult and complex products with a high degree of skill and quality. Provides training and coaching to Masker I and II in order to achieve high performance. Reports safety or productivity concerns immediately to management. In addition, may also perform shipping, receiving, fixture refurbishing and other related duties as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Understand and follow the designated processes and work instructions, Manufacturing Standard Procedures (MSP's) and other written and/or verbal instructions.

* May perform cleaning and preparation of customer product for masking and /or coating process using basic cleaning/preparatory techniques.

* Perform advanced masking/demasking and inspection tasks using methods and materials as specified in the designated processes using small hand and power tools, microscope and /or other support equipment. Successfully completes work on the most complex, custom projects with difficult geometry and configurations.

* Inspect own work for quality compliance.

* Provide guidance and training to Masker I and Masker II positions. Check work of Masker I and Masker II providing coaching or retraining as needed.

* Comply with Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) handling requirements when appropriate and as required.

* Work with the Production Coordinator, Production Supervisor, or Coating Center Manager to ensure a continuous flow of production by assigning work that is focused on meeting customer's schedules, quality specifications and productivity goals.

* Participate in implementing preventative and corrective actions for process improvements.

* Solicit ideas from maskers to improve masking efficiency or quality.

* Work on special assignments or complex masking jobs, including new customer orders/processes.

* Work with the Application Engineer to develop or revise masking operations on customer products.

* Maintain a high level of punctuality and attendance.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* May support NCMR's.

* May make recommendations to promote safety and improve processes.

* May operate precision measuring instruments and record results.

* Maintain a high level of personal hygiene.

* May monitor chemical baths, verifying the correct solution formulas and chemical balance, correcting the balance if out of specifications and discarding used bath solutions safely.

* May perform daily tasks in a clean room environment where compliance to clean room protocol, including PPE and hygiene standards will be required.

* May perform scheduled clean room maintenance.

* May be responsible for proper disposal, packaging, labelling, shipping or inspection of hazardous materials or waste in accordance with applicable regulatory standards.

* Maintains a neat and orderly work area.

* Adheres to plant and corporate safety policies.

* May assist in other areas or perform other duties as required by fluctuating business needs.

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Successful Masker experience, having held both a Masker I and Masker II title.

BASIC SKILLS:

* Ability to comprehend English written and verbal instructions, work instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

* Ability to communicate production and quality data, instructions, production results, quality issues, and similar subjects both verbally and in writing.

* Ability to effectively demonstrate and explain tasks, train others, and provide effective feedback about performance.

* Ability to perform basic math functions.

* Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

* Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

* High degree of manual dexterity and hand-to-eye coordination.

* Able to read at a 20/20 visual acuity using a Jaeger eye chart (near vision) with or without vision correction. Able to read No. 1 at 14" distance, or No. 2 at 20" distance, or No. 3 at 24" distance
