Role Overview:

As a Process Manufacturing Engineer III in the medical device sector, you will lead the development and deployment of next-generation manufacturing capabilities that improve scalability, cost, quality, and operational resilience. This role focuses on manufacturing innovation, automation, digital transformation, capital strategy, and process modernization, rather than production floor support.

You will work closely with Manufacturing Leadership, NPD, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations to design future-state manufacturing systems, enable new product and technology introductions, and drive step-change performance improvements across safety, cost, delivery, and quality. You will help transform the manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead process transformation initiatives, new manufacturing methods, digitization, automation, and robotics.
  • Identify and deploy emerging manufacturing technologies to strengthen competitive advantage.
  • Develop and execute capital projects, from financial justifications through project execution.
  • Lead equipment installation and validation activities including:
    • User Requirement Specifications (URS)
    • Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)
    • Installation Qualification (IQ)
    • Operational Qualification (OQ)
    • Performance Qualification (PQ)
    • Validation Report Approval (VRA)
  • Support advanced manufacturing engineering and sustainment engineering in the manufacturing process development of new products.
  • Drive manufacturing platform standardization across equipment, automation, tooling, and process architecture.

    Physical Demands:

    • Standing or walking for extended periods, especially when conducting floor inspections, overseeing production processes, or collaborating with manufacturing personnel.
    • Lifting and carrying objects, such as equipment, tools, or materials, often weighing up to 50 pounds or more.
    • Bending, stooping, and reaching to access machinery, equipment, or workstations for inspection, maintenance, or troubleshooting.
    • Working in environments with varying temperatures, noise levels, and potential hazards, such as moving machinery, electrical equipment, or chemical substances.
    • Wearing personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, gloves, steel-toed shoes, and hearing protection, as required by workplace safety regulations.

    Travel:

    • Less than 10% travel within the US and/or internationally.
