Adding your resume and/or cover letter in lieu of the application may not be accepted as well.<br id="isPasted"></em></u><br>We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Senior Construction Inspector to join our Public Works Department, responsible for inspecting roads, utilities, and other infrastructure improvements constructed as part of private development projects through all phases of construction and improvement. This advanced journey-level role offers the opportunity to apply independent judgment and initiative while ensuring compliance with codes, regulations, and quality standards.<br><br>Recruitment information:<br><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">The first round of applications will be reviewed on Wednesday, December 3, 2025. <br></span><br><br><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">What will you do in this position? </span><ul><li style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0) !important;" id="isPasted"><div style="margin: 0px;padding: 0px;color: inherit;">Inspect and monitor complex private development projects, including industrial, commercial, and residential, through all construction phases to ensure improvements, alterations, and repairs comply with applicable State and local regulations.</div></li><li style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0) !important;"><div style="margin: 0px;padding: 0px;color: inherit;">Independently review plans and specifications of assigned work prior to permit issuance.</div></li><li style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0) !important;"><div style="margin: 0px;padding: 0px;color: inherit;">Perform field inspections to evaluate and validate the work performed; verifies quality of workmanship, quality of materials used, and compliance with plans, specifications, and applicable codes and regulations.</div></li><li style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0) !important;"><div style="margin: 0px;padding: 0px;color: inherit;">Proactively assist contractors with problems and concerns; anticipates problems and pursues solutions.</div></li><li style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0) !important;"><div style="margin: 0px;padding: 0px;color: inherit;">Assist the public and other agencies in matters relating to PWD projects; serves as a liaison between engineering, operations, contractors, and developers; explains City codes, policies, procedures, and regulations; provides information and recommendations.</div></li></ul><br>A successful candidate in this position will: <br><br><ul><li>Take initiative to address issues proactively, using interpersonal skills to navigate conflict.</li><li>Learn and adapt to new tools and systems with ease to support work efficiency.</li><li>Collaborate across teams to uphold quality and pursue continuous improvement.</li><li>Respect and value different backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives.</li><li>Strengthen internal and external partnerships to enhance collective success.</li><li>Integrate feedback constructively to improve efficiency and service quality.</li><li>Uphold high standards of service in support of organizational and community goals.</li></ul><br><br><strong>About City of Bothell: <br></strong><ul><li>The City is comprised of 13.6 square miles within both King and Snohomish Counties and is home to 51,760 people (2025).
