Description

The A&P Mechanic performs complex aircraft maintenance, troubleshooting, and inspections with minimal supervision. Requires solid technical competency across multiple aircraft systems and the ability to perform work efficiently and independently while ensuring full compliance with FAA and company standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.




  1. Troubleshoots, repairs, replaces, and rebuilds structures, components and appliances, such as wings and fuselage and functional components including rigging, surface controls and plumbing and hydraulic units.
  2. Reads and interprets OEM and Supplemental Technical Manuals, Services Bulletins, Airworthiness Directives, Aircraft Maintenance Manual (AMM), Structural Repair Manual (SRM), Illustrated Parts Catalog (IPC), local directives and other specifications to determine maintenance method, parts requirements, and procedures.
  3. Tests engine operations to locate source of malfunction or perform operational checks.
  4. Performs various aircraft systems functional tests as required per AMM.
  5. Performs miscellaneous duties regarding aircraft routine servicing. Including but not limited to change and/or inspect all filters and screens, complete aircraft lubrication, wheel and tire assembly changes, removal, and reinstallation of ships batteries, servicing on-board sanitation facilities, etc.
  6. Complete aircraft documentation as required by the IAW KACC Repair Station Manual. Complete aircraft documentation as required by IAW with customer requirements or customer GMM.


Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:




  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Valid FAA A&P Certificate required.
  • 2-5 years of aircraft maintenance experience (Part 135, 145, corporate, military, or commercial).
  • Demonstrated proficiency in troubleshooting and system diagnostics.
  • Strong working knowledge of aircraft technical data, FARs, and safety standards.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
  • Experience mentoring junior technicians preferred.



LANGUAGE ABILITY:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

MATH ABILITY:

This position requires the ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY:

The ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

Microsoft Office Suite, Database Software, Inventory Software, and Order Processing Software.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be able to travel at relatively short notice for short periods. This position requires varied work shifts.

  • Valid FAA Airframe & Powerplant Certificate required.

  • Must be able to use ladders, stands, lifts, etc. and be able to work on all areas of aircraft.
  • Physical exertion: pulling, bending, pushing, reaching, standing, walking, and lifting / carrying of containers, equipment, etc. up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and / or move up to 100 pounds.
  • May work inside or outside of maintenance hangar.
  • This position requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • The ability to work various shifts which may include evening and weekend hours.


  • The employee is regularly required to stand; walk and use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear and taste and smell.
  • The vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
