The Finance Department at the University of Arizona, Eller College of Management invites applications from qualified candidates for a position as tenure-eligible Assistant Professor, Finance to begin August 2026. Preference will be given to candidates conducting cutting-edge financial research in areas such as AI and Fintech and who have experience teaching undergraduate or graduate finance courses. The faculty member will teach courses at graduate and undergraduate levels and contribute to mentoring students. We strive for excellence in research and teaching; this is reflected by engagement in significant ongoing research and strong effectiveness in teaching. Our faculty's research is published consistently in leading finance journals. The department's instruction is also outstanding, with faculty members consistently winning university and national awards for their teaching. The faculty member will also participate in outreach and contribute to departmental, college, and university service. In these and other ways, the faculty member will help develop innovative approaches to enhancing student engagement, and expanding collaborations with community and business partners. Finance is one of the most popular majors at the University of Arizona. Moreover, finance students engage in experiential learning activities-including managing a "real" million-dollar portfolio (FIN 423/523), the CFA Institute Research Challenge, the Chicago Quantitative Alliance Competition, and the Venture Capital Investment Competition. The department offers undergraduate programs in Finance (in-person and online), a Master's in Finance program (in-person and online), and a highly competitive PhD program (in-person).
