DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an Aging Case Aide 2, you will be tasked with fielding a large volume of incoming calls where you will be responsible for assisting older adults in obtaining a wide range of services. Work involves supporting professional and technical social services personnel in providing information and referral activities to older adults in order to help them better understand the community resources available to meet their individual needs. You will play an active role in identifying and engaging isolated individuals throughout the county, ensuring they are aware of and connected to helpful resources, services, and programs. Additional responsibilities include:
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge regarding community programs and services
- Compiling accurate intake and referrals documentation
- Interviewing older adults over the phone
- Providing detailed explanations relating to the procedurals aspects of obtaining services
- Completing Reports of Needs for Protective Services
- Representing the agency at fairs and events
- Performing miscellaneous administrative tasks as needed
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment. Travel, overtime, and after hour work may be required.
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as an Aging Case Aide 1; or
- Two years of public contact work, including one year in a human services program; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
Other Requirements:
- This particular position also requires you to possess a valid driver's license which is not under suspension.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
