Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY: The General Manager for Latin America (SLA) provides executive leadership for Sysmex America's commercial operations across Brazil, Latin America, and the Caribbean. This role is accountable for setting strategic direction, driving growth and profitability, and ensuring alignment with Sysmex America's corporate goals and global standards. Serving as the region's senior commercial leader, the General Manager builds and develops high-performing teams, fosters strong distributor and customer relationships, and ensures all business is conducted in accordance with local regulations, corporate governance, and Sysmex Way values.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    Define, develop, and execute the regional business strategy for Brazil and Latin America, aligned with Sysmex America's corporate goals.
  1. Lead, mentor, and grow high-performing teams across Sales, Marketing, and supporting functions.
  2. Oversee revenue, P&L, and operational targets to deliver sustained growth and profitability.
  3. Identify and pursue new market opportunities, distribution models, and partnerships across Hematology, Hemostasis, Urinalysis, Flow Cytometry, and new markets.
  4. Shape product portfolio strategy, pricing, and go-to-market execution in collaboration with global and Sysmex America leadership.
  5. Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, distributors, and key stakeholders to expand Sysmex's regional presence.
  6. Represent Sysmex and strengthen the brand through participation in industry associations, forums, and customer engagements.
  7. Ensure compliance with corporate governance, local regulations, and Sysmex Way values.
  8. Monitor and respond to market trends, competitive activity, and government policies impacting business performance.
  9. Serve as the senior commercial leader for LATAM and Board Member, ensuring functional alignment, effective collaboration with shared services, and delivery of sales and product objectives.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree preferred (e.g. MBA)

  • Proven progressive experience in sales and/or marketing leadership within the diagnostics or medical device industry
  • Fluent English and Spanish and/or Portuguese
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Knowledge:
    • Deep knowledge of healthcare and diagnostics markets, including distribution dynamics
    • Exceptional communication skills in English and Spanish and/or Portuguese
    • Great written and verbal communication skills
    • Proven strong persuasive and influential leadership style
    • Diverse career experiences in marketing, account management, or scientific affairs
    • Ability to form coalescence, alignment of goals, and persuasive skills to achieve desired outcomes
    • Strong management and coaching ability
    • Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex data, develop strategy, and execute against defined goals
