Job Details: Job Summary: Manages a team of Cubic Defense accountants and its subsidiaries. This position also manages the preparation of monthly financial statements for Cubic Defense entities and subsidiaries. This position works under general supervision and direction. Incumbents of this position will regularly exercise discretionary and substantial decision-making authority.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manages the accounting group that performs the general ledger accounting function.
  • Coordinates across functional lines to ensure that Defense accounting transactions are prepared in accordance with GAAP and company policy.
  • Reviews monthly financial statements and supporting schedules.
  • Reviews general ledger account reconciliations.
  • Prepares or reviews account analyses for management and internal/external auditors.
  • Compiles and analyzes financial information.
  • Assists with the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure the timely availability of accurate financial information to management.
Minimum Job Requirements:
  • Requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 6 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 3 years experience; or equivalent experience in a defense accounting role
  • Experience managing people required.
  • Demonstrated success in building and managing effective accounting departments and/or working with public accounting teams in the defense industry
  • Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and financial reporting requirements
  • Ability to effectively interface with all levels of personnel, management and external auditors
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, handle multiple projects, and work under deadlines

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA certification or MBA preferred.
  • Exposure to foreign currency transactions and consolidations preferred.
Salary & Benefits:
Cubic pay range: $96,390.00 - $179,010.00 USD Annual plus benefits

Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.

Cubic Pay Range:

*Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from our lowest geographic market up to our highest geographic market.
