St. Simons By-The-Sea BH is a 101-bed psychiatric and addictive disease hospital for adults and adolescents. We strive to provide quality mental health treatment and addiction treatment services in the area.

St. Simons By-The-Sea BH Hospital is seeking a Maintenance Worker, under the direction of the Plant Operations Director, to complete maintenance tasks throughout the facility (mechanical, plumbing, and electrical). Also assists housekeeping with facility cleanliness and the daily upkeep of public areas.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following tasks:

  • Performs regular inspections of the Emergency Generator, emergency lighting, fire extinguishers, and other equipment, as needed.
  • Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts.
  • Moves and rearranges furniture safely, as needed.
  • Repairs broken furniture, trim, and other items, as needed.
  • Performs plumbing repairs, installation of new pipes, fixtures, and clears blockages, as needed.
  • Responsible for the proper installation of drywall and drywall finish material.
  • Responsible for painting walls, trims, doors, and other items in a clean/neat manner.
  • Responsible for the proper installation of new electrical fixtures, wiring, and devices. Can you troubleshoot and repair electrical problems?
  • Discarding and packaging of Bio-hazardous waste - compliant with required training.
  • Responsible for the proper installation and repair of door locks and hardware, including key management.
  • Assigns the Plant Operations Director to maintain the daily maintenance work log, department productivity, and efficiency, and assigns and coordinates the daily workload of department maintenance workers.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

High School Diploma/GED preferred.

Minimum of two or more years related experience and/or training in commercial or residential construction; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Previous experience in maintenance in a healthcare setting is preferred.

Must be able to perform in a fast-paced work environment successfully
