WGL - Manager, Income Tax and Reporting

WGL is seeking a Manager, Income Tax and Reporting to lead complex income tax accounting and compliance processes that keep our business running smoothly. This is a highly technical role with significant visibility across Finance and Operations and a clear path for upward mobility.

What You'll Do:

  • Own the income tax accounting process under ASC 740 and regulatory reporting requirements

  • Manage tax provisioning and compliance workflows, ensuring accuracy and timeliness

  • Review journal entries and work prepared by senior staff; approve and guide improvements

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on rate case data and regulatory filings

  • Drive process enhancements and system optimization for tax reporting

What We're Looking For:

  • 7+ years of experience in tax accounting; regulated utility experience highly desirable

  • Deep knowledge of ASC 740 and tax compliance

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to manage complex scenarios

  • Experience with ERP systems (PeopleSoft) and Corptax preferred

  • Ability to effectively evaluate multiple scenarios and to assist in implementing effective solutions to broadly defined business problems.

  • Ability to communicate complex messages to diverse audiences at all organization levels

  • Master's degree or CPA required (CPA strongly preferred).

We offer a competitive salary range of $130,000 to $164,000 per year, commensurate with experience, education, and skills. In addition, we provide a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
