Compensation

Salary Range: $44.19 - $54.00 / hour

Responsibilities

Position Overview:

Provides psychotherapeutic services and support for youth (ages 0-26) and their caregivers. Provides assessment and diagnosis for psychological, emotional or behavioral disorders. Makes recommendations and implements appropriate treatments plans, then monitors progress through follow-up sessions and/or regular meetings. Serves as a member of interdisciplinary team consulting with physicians, APPs, nurses, psychiatrists, and medical staff. Assures the deliverance of quality treatment to patients utilizing best practices and standards of care. Provides appropriate coordination of resources, referrals, and support in an effort to meet the total needs of the patient.

The Pediatric Behavioral Health Clinician supports the implementation and coordination of the Collaborative Care for Youth Innovation grant. This position operates within a Collaborative Care Model (CoCM) and Primary Care Behavioral Model (PCBH), integrating behavioral health into pediatric and young adult primary care settings. The Pediatric Behavioral Health Clinician will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating mental health conditions, offering therapy and support that aligns with patients' overall healthcare goals. The role emphasizes early identification, family-centered support, and seamless transitions to appropriate care across child, adolescent, and young adult populations (ages 0-26 years).

Successful candidates will have the ability to manage common behavioral health concerns that present in primary care (e.g., depression, anxiety, ADHD, trauma). Candidates will be flexible in their treatment approach as well as adapt to the needs and concerns of patients up to age 26. Candidates should have comfort with utilizing psychological screening measures to assess the efficacy of their treatment plan and drive symptom improvement. The clinician will also provide clinical supervision weekly to unlicensed Behavioral Staff. This is a grant-funded position with a three-year term with possibility of extension.

Qualifications

Required

    Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or Marriage and Family Therapy
  • Active, unrestricted LCSW or LMFT licensure
  • One (1) year of experience working with children, adolescents and/or adults in a healthcare, behavioral, mental health, or social services setting
  • Current and ongoing Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) considered insurable under CMH insurance coverage
  • Current California Driver's License
Preferred:
  • Ability to develop and implement individualized treatment plans that address behavioral, physical health, and social needs
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including communication with caregivers
  • Bilingual in Spanish
  • Previous experience with crisis intervention
  • Previous experience in the continuity of patient care planning
  • Five (5) years of experience working with children and youth, ages 0-18
  • Training in evidence-based interventions (COCM, PCBH, CBT, MI, PST, or trauma-focused models)
