Position Summary:
This position works closely with both the Senior Executive Director and Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations to build, maintain, and expand relationships with corporations and foundations for the benefit of NJIT's strategic priorities in a variety of responsibilities for the Corporate and Foundation Relations (CFR) department.

Essential Functions:
-Works closely with the Senior Executive Director and Director to establish and manage long-range strategies and goals of the CFR department and to ensure effective, efficient, and coordinated fundraising strategies.
-Identifies and qualifies corporate and foundation prospects, maintains prospect lists, collates research, and compiles research profiles at the request of CFR leadership.
-Prepares and submits letters of interest, concept papers, proposals, and other solicitation materials, and solicits corporations, foundations, and other institutional funders for grants and gifts of up to $250,000.
-Establishes, cultivates, and manages relationships with a portfolio of 50+ corporate, foundation, and other institutional prospects capable of making grants and gifts up to $250,000.
-Maintains and updates data on institutional priority projects, faculty grant activity, rankings, institutional designations, corporate engagement activity, and other metrics/data as assigned.
-In consultation with the Senior Executive Director, help determine corporate engagement strategy regarding corporate clubs, matching gifts, site visits, stewardship plans, and gift/grant solicitations for corporate prospects/partners.
-In consultation with the Senior Executive Director, oversee and coordinate all corporate sponsorships for signature university events, conferences, forums, and other ad hoc events as needed.
-Assist with planning, outreach, and management of corporate engagement projects and events as assigned by the Director and/or Senior Executive Director.
-Coordinates and prepares briefing materials for various meetings, visits, and events (both virtual and in person) between corporate and foundation representatives and various NJIT stakeholders.
-Provides support for office-wide fundraising campaign, events, and other projects as needed.
-Incumbent must be willing to work extended hours as needed. Requirements could include evening and weekend meetings, special event attendance, and travel. Ability to travel both in and out-of-state (25% out of state, 75% in state).
-Annual goals relating to number of contacts, proposals submitted, gifts/grants secured, and new prospects identified to be established in collaboration with the Senior Executive Director of CFR.

Prerequisite Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree or higher and at least three years of related experience, preferably in a higher education or a non-profit setting.
-At least 2-3 years of experience in corporate and foundation relations preferred.
-Demonstrated ability to work productively as a team member collaboratively in an academic setting with a wide range of university and external representatives, including deans, faculty, staff across departments and disciplines, and institutional giving officers.
-Ability to adjust to changing priorities and to manage multiple, deadline-driven responsibilities.
-Excellent computer, database, and research skills.
-Very strong relationship-building and communication skills, both written and verbal.
-At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be exempted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.

Salary Information:
In compliance with the NJ Pay Transparency Law, the negotiated annual salary range for this position is $70,089.77-$131,210.76 (USD). NJIT considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses or other items.
