Purpose of the Role

The Document Control I supports Worley's purpose of delivering a more sustainable world by ensuring that project documentation is accurate, controlled, and accessible throughout the asset life cycle. This role contributes to Worley's ambition to be recognized as a global leader in sustainability solutions by enabling effective information management across engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and decommissioning activities. By maintaining high standards of document integrity and compliance, the role helps project teams deliver safe, efficient, and sustainable outcomes for customers across the energy, chemicals, and resources sectors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide document control support to assigned projects in alignment with Worley's commitment to delivering sustainable change.
  • Manage the receipt, registration, distribution, storage, and retrieval of engineering drawings and technical documentation in accordance with project and organizational procedures.
  • Apply established document control systems, processes, and tools to support integrated, data centric project delivery from early consulting and engineering through execution and closeout.
  • Ensure documents are reviewed for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with project requirements, supporting quality outcomes across the project life cycle.
  • Coordinate with project teams, customers, and partners to facilitate timely communication and controlled information flow.
  • Exercise sound judgment in selecting appropriate work methods and following project specific procedures, while identifying and resolving routine document control issues.
  • Detect errors during document processing and perform self checks to ensure accuracy and consistency of own work.
  • Support the preparation of reports, registers, presentations, and other project deliverables that contribute to transparent decision making and sustainable project outcomes.
  • Maintain document control practices that support asset viability, regulatory compliance, and long term value creation for customers.
  • Provide minor guidance to less experienced personnel, supporting knowledge sharing and capability development within the team.
  • Work under direct supervision, following detailed instructions for non standard activities, and actively participate in supervised on the job training as required.

Qualifications / Skillset
  • Technical school qualification or an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience aligned with engineering, construction, or project environments.
  • Demonstrated experience in document control or information management within energy, chemicals, resources, or related technical industries.
  • Foundational understanding of engineering drawings and technical documentation, with the ability to correctly identify, classify, and handle controlled documents.
  • Computer literacy with practical experience using standard word processing and spreadsheet applications, along with exposure to document management systems.
  • Basic understanding of project systems, processes, and tools that support safe, efficient, and sustainable project delivery.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment within established policies and procedures, while recognizing when to seek guidance.
  • Strong attention to detail with the capability to identify inconsistencies or errors and take corrective action.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey information and support collaborative working relationships.
