| Job Summary |
The
HRIS Analyst will support the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of the university's Human Resources Information Systems (
HRIS), including PeopleSoft
HCM. Reporting to the Director of
HRIS in the Office of Human Resources, this role acts as a critical link between HR functional teams and technical resources, helping translate business needs into system functionality. The
HRIS Analyst will assist in data analysis, system configuration, testing, documentation, and user support, contributing to the continuous improvement of HR processes and systems.
This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, data integrity, and process optimization in a collaborative, higher education environment.

| Minimum Education and Experience |
Bachelor's Degree and three (3) years
HRIS analyst experience or other relevant IT support experience. |
| Preferred Education and Experience |
- Experience working in higher education or public sector
- Familiarity with business process analysis and system implementation lifecycle
- Exposure to HR technologies, AI tools, or third-party integrations (e.g., onboarding systems, analytics platforms).
- Experience with testing tools and documentation of system changes

| Essential Duties and Responsibilities |
- Collaborate with HR functional teams (e.g., Benefits, Employee Relations, Employment, Compensation) to gather requirements, analyze processes, and identify opportunities for system improvements. Understanding of Payroll for North America as affected by Benefits deductions and taxation.
- Assist with overseeing and supporting complex HCM technology projects which include ensuring quality, timeliness, and proper use of HR information retrieved from the systems.
- Work with HR personnel and Office of Information Technology to clarify program intent, identify problems, suggest changes, and determine extent of programming involved.
- Work with HR personnel to revise and enhance functionality within existing platforms to increase operating efficiency or adapt to new requirements.
- Conduct project life cycle management, including requirement gathering, development specifications, development of reports and procedures, testing and implementation of new or redesigned systems.
- Configure, test, and maintain HRIS modules and workflows, primarily in PeopleSoft HCM.
- Assist in the implementation and support of new features, updates, and third-party HR technology integrations.
- Develop and maintain system documentation, including process flows, configuration guides, and user instructions.
- Provide first-line technical support for HR system users; troubleshoot issues and coordinate resolutions with IT when needed.
- Perform data audits and validation to ensure system integrity, compliance, and accurate reporting.
- Support HR data reporting needs through queries and reports (e.g., PeopleSoft Query Manager, Excel).
- Participate in HR technology projects and university-wide initiatives, supporting the Director of HRIS with research, testing, and communication.
- Develop and maintain internal project plans to meet deadlines for ongoing system related projects within HR.
- Monitor trends in HR technology and support the evaluation of emerging tools (including AI solutions) for relevance to UT Dallas.
- Assist in training users and supporting knowledge transfer initiatives across HR teams.
- Performs other duties and projects assigned.
