GENERAL SUMMARY

The Technical Writer is responsible for composing, editing and revising a variety of internal and external written and visual communication materials in support of our engineered products. The position requires an experienced individual with a strong technical writing background that can apply written and verbal communication skills to develop technical documents, spreadsheets, training materials and promotional material. The individual must have the ability to understand complex systems and processes and simplify this into easy to understand concepts. The Technical Writer will need to interface with cross-functional teams and subject matter experts within the organization to successfully complete the work required by this position.

This position is currently eligible for DeZURIK's hybrid work schedule.


PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)

  • Collaborate with engineering staff to write technical documentation, including product engineering data (PEDs), product specifications, assemblies, and technical guides.
  • Ensure the marketing team has the correct interpretation of technical documentation/illustrations for translation into customer-facing marketing materials such as bulletins, application stories, white papers, and videos.
  • Work with translation companies to develop technical materials needed in foreign languages.
  • Assist the technical marketing manager in developing white papers that utilize engineering information.
  • Manage the consistency of technical content and its use across departments, including product development, marketing, engineering, and manufacturing.
  • Ensure goals and objectives are met on time and within budget.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's Degree with emphasis in engineering, English, marketing, writing or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 - 3 years' experience in technical writing or engineering related function
  • Proven working experience in understanding highly complex engineered products.
  • Highly creative with experience collaborating with internal or external customers
  • Experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Accuracy in the English language and grammar.
  • Computer Skills: High proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time with minimal supervision.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Physical demands are typical of an office position including extended periods of sitting, extensive use of a personal computer and telephone.
  • Position requires movement throughout the office in order to resolve work problems and facilitate processes.



WORKING CONDITIONS

Normal manufacturing and office environment. When working occasionally in some shop areas, personal protection equipment (PPE) will be recommended and/or required (safety shoes, safety glasses w/side shields, hearing protection, face shield, gloves, apron, and boots). Must have the ability to support extended business hours to meet customer business needs.

SALARY AND BENEFITS

DeZURIK offers a competitive base salary in the $64,680 to $80,849 range, based on experience and qualifications, along with annual bonus opportunities tied to performance.
