BASIC PURPOSE:


The primary responsibility of the Billing Coordinator is to support accurate and timely billing and claims submission for homecare services while ensuring compliance with payer regulations and internal billing standards, while focusing on executing day-to-day billing activities, supporting claims resolution, and contributing to efficient revenue cycle operations across Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:



  • Prepare, review, and submit homecare and claims-based billing to Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial / clearinghouse payers in accordance with payer guidelines.
  • Ensure billing is supported by accurate documentation, authorizations, visit records, and required payer information.
  • Monitor claim status and address rejections, edits, and basic denials in a timely manner.
  • Escalate complex billing, payer, or claim adjudication issues to senior team members or leadership as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Clinical, Payroll, and Billing teams to resolve billing discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate billing records and documentation to support audits and payer reviews.
  • Follow established billing procedures, workflows, and internal controls to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Support process improvements by identifying recurring billing issues and opportunities for increased efficiency.
  • Maintain ownership of accounts receivable for assigned homecare portfolios, ensuring timely follow-up on unpaid or underpaid claims.
  • Partner with Collections team and internal stakeholders to support resolution of outstanding balances.
  • Assist with rebilling, corrected claims, and appeals under guidance of senior team members.
  • Review AR aging and act on assigned balances to prevent delays in reimbursement.
  • Meet established productivity, accuracy, and service level expectations.

Education:



  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education, such as an associate or bachelor's degree, preferred.


QUALIFICATIONS:



  • 3+ years of progressive healthcare billing or healthcare staffing experience, with a strong focus on homecare, home health, or claims-based billing.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills - pivots, V look ups, etc. required.
  • Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer / clearinghouse billing requirements.
  • Demonstrated expertise in claims submission, adjudication, corrections, and appeals.
  • Proven mastery in problem-solving and resolution of complex billing and payer scenarios.
  • Highly developed data analytic and reporting skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, high-volume billing environment.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Advanced proficiency in billing systems, clearinghouses, payer portals, and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex billing issues clearly.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and support junior team members.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with commitment to staying current on payer and regulatory changes.

Company equipment(laptop, monitor, keyboard, mouse headset) will be provided directly to you for use during employment.
