Mechanical Engineering Intern - Summer 2026

The Role:
Our site in San Luis Obispo, CA is seeking a/an Mechanical Engineering Intern to join our team for the Summer 2026 season. This assignment is intended to be 12-14 weeks in duration.

In this role, you will support the design, development, and testing of advanced gas purification systems. Working closely with senior engineers, you will contribute to the creation of mechanical components and assemblies, assist in CAD modeling, perform basic fluid and thermal analyses, and help prepare documentation for prototypes and production.

What You'll Do:
* Solid modeling and drafting using SolidWorks
* BOM creation and engineering documentation using SAP
* Document design changes, test results, and engineering reports
* Contribute new and innovative solutions
* Build a peer network

What We Seek:
* Junior level status or higher
* Familiarity with CAD tools (e.g. SolidWorks)
* Basic understanding of fluid mechanics and materials science
* Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Desired Major(s) & Graduation Year:
* Currently enrolled in BS in Mechanical Engineering
* Graduation date of 2026, 2027, or 2028

Eligibility

* Must be a currently enrolled student
* Available to work 40 hours a week, M-F (8a-5p) beginning in mid-May/June through August/September.

Compensation: $25-$30/per hour range with actual pay dependent on candidate overall skills for the role.
