Job Description

Responsible for managing all aspects of local catering events once the file has been turned over by the Catering Sales Manager. To merchandise as skillfully as possible the hotel function space in order to maximize revenue potential for the hotel and to ensure that the customer has the best possible meeting experience.

Salary range for this posiin is $69,169 - $84,300 per year



Responsibilities

    Communicate event details to operating departments and customers in a timely and thorough manner following established procedures.
  • Coordinate menu tastings with customers adhering to established procedures.
  • Participate in site inspections to assist Catering Sales Managers (and others as needed) in the selling process.
  • Effectively utilize existing hotel software systems to manage time, event details, and proper communication to all parties
  • Coordinate menus, room set ups, audio visual needs, parking, and other essential activities related to producing a successful event.
  • Achieve all revenue and Medallia goals as assigned by the Director of Catering and the Director of Sales and Marketing
  • Must be knowledgeable about all hotel (and competitive set hotels) capabilities (front desk/reservations/room service/catering).
  • Merchandise function space and attain maximum room rental wherever appropriate.
  • Understand and follow all guidelines relating to catering merchandising, space release and "free sell" opportunities.
  • Continuously refine product/concept offering.
  • Active involvement in industry-related activities which may or may not be within office hours - this includes mornings, evenings or weekends.
  • Achieve budgeted catering (food, beverage, and room rental) revenue goals.
  • Provide support and direction to administrative staff.
  • Is fully aware of all corporate sponsored promotions.
  • Develop and implement individual Quarterly and annual Action Plans (KRA's).
  • Submit required reports on a timely basis.
  • Maintain all accounts with current trace dates, accurate histories and all relevant information regarding activity.
  • Recommend improvement of facilities and services as needed.
  • Actively participate in sales and catering meetings.
  • Participate in the ongoing forecasting process.
  • Perform any other duties required by leadership


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality Management or other related field (preferred)
  • Previous experience in operations or sales, in an upscale hotel or resort property (preferred)
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to handle large, complex, multifaceted events and multiple events concurrently.
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours as needed during busy times and high-profile events, including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Highly developed customer service skills; possessing a friendly approachable demeanor and strong problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Proven ability to engage guests at all levels. Must be passionate about providing warm, engaging and personalized service.
  • Candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to handle multiple priorities.
  • Must possess the ability to handle stressful and busy hotel operations. Ability to maintain a positive and professional demeanor and composure at all times.
  • Must have the ability to report to work on time and when scheduled.
  • Must have the ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time.
  • Must meet standards of appearance and maintain a high level of personal hygiene at all time.
  • Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills. Candidate must be comfortable speaking to guests. Ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate both verbally and in writing in English with guests, management, and co-workers.
  • Computer literacy to include: Delphi, Salesforce, Microsoft office and other systems
