Location: Kansas City, MO
Status: Full-Time
Pay Rate: $13.75/hr.

Job Overview

The Warehouse Associate supports daily warehouse and donation operations while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment. This role also plays a key part in assisting program beneficiaries with work therapy development through hands-on training, guidance, and mentoring.

Essential Functions

  • Maintain a professional appearance in accordance with company dress code
  • Load, unload, sort, and move donated goods to appropriate departments
  • Price merchandise accurately according to established guidelines
  • Track and report production numbers in assigned work areas
  • Transport priced merchandise to designated sales or storage areas
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment
  • Support beneficiary work therapy development through training, coaching, and mentoring
  • Assist donors during donation drop-off, including:


    • Providing excellent customer service
    • Completing donation receipts
    • Collecting and tracking donor information by hour


  • Operate safely and follow all warehouse procedures and safety guidelines
  • Maintain flexibility to work varied schedules, including weekends and holidays as needed



Training & Cross-Functional Exposure

Employees may be trained in any or all of the following product areas:



  • Clothing
  • Household goods
  • Shoes
  • Bric-a-Brac
  • Electronics
  • Accessories & jewelry
  • Antiques
  • Linens



Employees may also be trained to operate the following equipment (as assigned):



  • Baler
  • Compactor



Addendum (May Include)



  • Forklift Operator
  • Elevator Operator



(Training and certification provided as required.)

Qualifications

Education & Experience



  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English



Skills & Abilities



  • Ability to follow simple one- or two-step instructions
  • Ability to work in standardized situations with limited variability
  • Strong communication skills (speaking and listening)
  • Good vision and hearing abilities
  • Excellent manual dexterity
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus
