Job Description




As a Security Officer - School Patrol Driver in Chapel Hill, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal at an education location, you will conduct regular patrols to help deter security-related incidents and maintain a welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. This position requires a valid driver's license to fulfill driving responsibilities as part of your patrol duties. You'll provide outstanding customer service, communicate clearly, and embody Allied Universal's values of teamwork, integrity, and putting people first.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients, faculty, students, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, as well as responding to emergency situations as appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the educational campus and surrounding perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols for the educational environment.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and common areas to help to deter unauthorized access and promote a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Document and report all incidents, observations, and activities according to Allied Universal and site-specific requirements.
  • Assist with access control procedures, visitor management, and enforcement of campus policies as directed by site leadership.
  • Collaborate with campus staff and local authorities as needed to address security-related matters and provide support during special events or emergencies.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
