Xerox is seeking a Network Automation Architect with a passion for designing and delivering automation solutions to enhance enterprise network and cloud infrastructure and operations. This role will lead the establishment of automation and software development standards for the team, including the selection of tools, languages, platforms, and processes. The Network Automation Architect will collaborate across network architecture, operations, and business teams to drive operational excellence through automation. This role will also be responsible for documenting procedures, coordinating implementations, guiding team activity, and eliminating barriers to achieve desired outcomes. The ideal candidate must possess robust communication skills and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain the roadmap and priorities for new network automation initiatives aligned with business objectives and future growth.
  • Design scalable, secure, and high-performance automation solutions to meet a diverse set of requirements and capabilities. These solutions are critical to amplifying network service and operations efficiency across the enterprise.
  • Select and implement development tools, languages, platforms, and processes. Establish, maintain, and document these new standards, best practices, and procedures for the team.
  • Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines and DevOps processes.
  • Integrate artificial intelligence into the development process to enhance productivity and accelerate delivery of new automation solutions.
  • Evaluate emerging automation and software development technologies, recommending solutions to support evolving business needs.
  • Collaboration with network architecture and operations teams to provide design feedback, process improvement opportunities, and potential solution enhancements.
  • Ensure designs comply with internal and external security standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO, NIST, GDPR).
  • Mentor junior automation engineers and promote a culture of mutual support and continuous improvement.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field with 8-10+ years of software development experience.
  • Experience designing and delivering automated solutions that integrate with infrastructure, security services, and platforms using APIs and following security best practices.
  • Familiarity with foundational networking technologies (LAN, WAN, firewalls) and services (DNS, DHCP, SNMP). Knowledge of zero-trust principles and SASE (Zscaler) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD DevOps capabilities and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and Configuration-as-Code (CaC).
  • Experience using common automation languages such as Python and PowerShell. Experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Apps and Automate) or other low/no code environments is a plus.
  • Familiar with IT operational processes (Event, Incident, Change, Problem, ITSM) and development frameworks (Agile, SAFe).
  • Advanced troubleshooting and software debugging skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage multiple priorities with proven organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks with changing priorities.
  • Strong ability in multiple technologies, analytical techniques, and leadership skills.
  • Willingness and desire to guide a team of junior automation engineers to provide a collaborative and supportive environment.
