What to Expect

The Tooling, Process & Training team is responsible for developing custom service tooling, hardware, and procedures to assist in the rapid development and maintenance of Tesla Energy's storage and charging solutions, as well as providing training on these tools and procedures. This skilled and motivated individual should have a strong project management background, along with experience collaborating with broad cross-functional teams.

The ideal candidate will have experience performing both - tools and containment parts planning and procurement in a manufacturing environment.


What You'll Do
  • Manage the timeline, planning, and coordination of parts and materials for installation and service tools development across Tesla's Energy product lines
  • Work closely with the Tooling, Procedure Development, Training, and Campaign Teams to ensure all Field Applications projects are supported on time
  • Handle sourcing activities, including BOM navigation, sorting materials by type, placing RFQs, negotiating pricing, drafting POs, and securing critical approvals within tight timelines
  • Oversee the NAM fulfillment of tools, ensuring smooth inbound & outbound logistics
  • Support process improvements for logistics, cost reductions, & tool procurement operations
  • Ensure NPI IPOs, Tooling IPOs, and Containment Parts are properly sourced and monitored for ongoing projects
  • Assist with the fulfillment of approximately 25-30 IPOs per week and manage 5-10 POs

What You'll Bring
  • 1-2 years of experience in procurement, buyer/planner roles, or related fields, ideally in an engineering or manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of BOM management, vendor negotiation, and purchasing processes
  • Experience with RFQs, POs, and vendor management
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under tight deadlines
  • Strong project management skills, with a proven ability to see projects through from inception to completion
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with ERP systems, procurement software, and JIRA or other project management tools is a plus

    Expected Compensation
    $66,400 - $99,600/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
