The Johns Hopkins Hospital has been at the forefront of discovery, innovation, and medical advances for over 125 years. Our reputation for excellence has earned us a spot on U.S. News & World Report's Best Hospitals list for over two decades. We believe that the commitment from our entire professional staff is one of the primary reasons we can continually set the standard of excellence in patient care, both in our community and around the world. Renowned for our specialty services and innovative clinical advances, we strive to make The Johns Hopkins Hospital an exceptional place to work, learn and advance your career.

The Johns Hopkins Hospital Surgical Oncology Unit (Weinberg 4C/D) is a 27 bed unit with a focus on surgical oncology patients. Patients include those who have undergone GI, Head and Neck, and General surgery. This is an acute care level floor, however, the patients require specialized nursing care, assessments, and education. Working on Weinberg 4CD provides Registered Nurses (RNs) with an opportunity to learn new skills such as tracheostomy management, develop time-management, and be a part of a family-oriented multidisciplinary team. Each shift has a charge nurse without a direct care assignment, and on many shifts, there is a clinical mentor nurse from 10:30am to 11:00pm to enhance your learning and development. There is also a virtual nurse role that helps to support this unit. This nurse works in a hybrid location within the hospital, and assists with a variety of tasks including admissions, discharges, and patient education.

All New Graduate RNs will be automatically enrolled in our yearlong accredited Nurse Residency Program to facilitate your successful transition into professional nursing practice.
