Position Overview Cambria Calabasas Hotel is seeking a dedicated and proactive Assistant Food & Beverage Manager to support the overall management of our restaurant, banquet, and food & beverage operations. This role works closely with the AGM, Corporate Director of Food & Beverage, and Sales & Catering team to provide guests with memorable experiences. The ideal candidate is organized, hands-on, guest-focused, and thrives in a fast-paced boutique hotel environment, balancing service excellence with operational and administrative responsibilities. Responsibilities Operations, Service & Events
- Assist in overseeing daily restaurant and food & beverage operations to ensure quality, consistency, and efficiency
- Coordinate and execute banquet events, meetings, and special functions
- Ensure events are properly staffed, set up according to BEOs, and executed to brand and service standards
- Serve as on-site point of contact during events to ensure smooth service flow and guest satisfaction
- Collaborate with Sales & Catering team on BEOs, timelines, staffing needs, and client requests
- Coordinate with kitchen and service teams for timely, seamless service
- Handle guest concerns and special requests promptly and professionally
Team Leadership & Training
- Supervise, train, and support food & beverage staff to maintain exceptional service standards
- Assist with staff scheduling, onboarding, coaching, and performance development
- Help develop and implement service procedures, policies, and standards
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and accountable team culture
Inventory, Purchasing & Compliance
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies
- Collaborate with suppliers and support procurement and cost-control efforts
- Minimize waste and ensure proper storage and handling of food and beverage items
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and liquor regulations
Administrative, Financial & Sales Support
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and monthly financial initiatives
- Prepare reports related to sales, labor, inventory, and expenses
- Analyze sales performance, event outcomes, and guest feedback to identify trends
- Support food & beverage marketing initiatives and promotional efforts
Quality & Innovation
- Promote a culture of innovation and entrepreneurial spirit within the department
- Stay informed on industry trends, new ingredients, and service techniques
- Ensure all food & beverage operations are executed at the highest level daily
- Support continuous improvement of restaurant and banquet guest experiences
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in food & beverage, hospitality, or banquets
- Associate or bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, or Business Administration preferred
- Strong understanding of restaurants, banquet, and event operations
- Excellent leadership and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and remain composed in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and health regulations
- Proficiency with POS systems, Microsoft Office, and F&B management software
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
