What to Expect
The Maintenance Supervisor will lead a team of Equipment Maintenance Technicians to ensure equipment availability and performance at Tesla Semi Factory. Responsibilities include managing preventative maintenance and repair of electro-mechanical, robotic, and pneumatic equipment, developing, and maintaining maintenance and calibration schedules, and supporting factory acceptance testing (FATs), engineering, and manufacturing activities. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, innovator, and change agent who can build on previous successes and take the Maintenance team to the next level, embodying a positive, hands-on leadership style with exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and management skills in a collaborative and dynamic work environment.
What You'll Do
- Establish systems to ensure that preventative maintenance is 100% on-time and effective for all manufacturing tools and equipment, including robots and other automated and semi-automated manufacturing systems
- Day to day coverage of production line equipment, including rapid response on broken equipment to minimize downtime and maximize productivity
- Investigate and implement countermeasures to prevent repetitive breakdowns
- Assist with electrical and mechanical code compliance, safety, and lean manufacturing initiatives
- Maintain and help develop up-to-date maintenance and calibration procedures and schedules
- Develop new Maintenance instructions for new equipment or equipment changes, and train Maintenance Teams
- Tesla people leaders are responsible for a variety of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) assurance functions, including ensuring their teams' safety training is current, documenting EHS incidents, proactively correcting workplace hazards in the areas, and empowering others to continuously improve operations
What You'll Bring
- Degree in Industrial, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, military experience, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience in leadership
- 5+ years of extensive experience with trouble-shooting and correcting industrial equipment maintenance - breakdowns and failure
- Minimum of 3-5 years of maintenance technician management experience in a high-volume manufacturing/industrial environment is required, military or equivalent experience
- Skilled at troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, welding, robotic and/or pneumatic systems
- Demonstrated experience with 3-phase 480/208 VAC, single-phase 208/120 VAC, and 24 VDC systems
- Must have command of the English language, both written and verbal
