Department:PTSL Ambulatory Pharmacy (Central)Department's Website: Summary of Job Duties:Under the direct supervision of the Manager of Pharmacy for Ambulatory Care, the Clinical Pharmacy Technician (Ambulatory Operational and Patient Assistance) will have primary responsibility for supervising and coordinating operational assistance within clinics in the Integrated Medicine Service Line (IMSL). This position is an upper-level technician position. The employee in this position must demonstrate special skills, knowledge, and task completion not required by the other pharmacy technicians. The programs to be coordinated and monitored include, but are not limited to, MAP (Medication Assistance Program), retail drug PAPs (free drug), prior authorizations, and Medicare assistance/enrollment. This position will support operations, ensuring patients receive the lowest out-of-pocket expense possible, utilizing assistance from various programs, PBMs, and manufacturers. This includes, but is not limited to, researching data, connecting patients with appropriate assistance, assisting inapplications, processing prescriptions, communicating with billing, and patient follow-up. Additionally, the pharmacy technician will work directly with a clinical pharmacy specialist to coordinate operational tasks within the clinic(s), including, but not limited to, obtaining information and coordinating care with external facilities, as well as aiding in transitions of care. The Pharmacy Technician IV will work with pharmacy leadership to maintain and improve program workflows, expansion, and compliance. In addition to these duties, they may also perform the responsibilities of a Pharmacy Technician I/II/III, including assisting pharmacists with day-to-day operations, patient outreach, and other aspects of patient care. The Pharmacy Technician IV will prioritize work based on immediate need and changing workload. They will work as a team member to perform day-to-day work efficiently and accurately, along with any additional tasks or projects to help achieve departmental goals.
