DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The Clerical Assistant 2 in this position will provide general clerical and office support to the Bureau of Patrol to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. You will serve as Timekeeper/Leave Clerk and will review time and attendance records of staff for accuracy and conformance to Department regulations. In addition, you will maintain records in compliance with Department regulations, as well as research and respond to time/pay inquiries from staff members.. Purchases all needed equipment/supplies for the Bureau, utilizing grant funding or Bureau funding, in compliance with Department regulations. Orders expendable supplies for the Bureau and processes Visa card payments, purchase order (PO) invoices, and non-PO invoices.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
  • Work hours are 7:00 am to 3:00pm, Monday thru Friday with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,108 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Graduation from high school; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:
  • 2 years or more of experience using Microsoft Word.
  • 2 years or more of experience using Microsoft Excel.
  • 2 years or more of experience answering and assisting with incoming telephone calls.
  • 2 years or more of experience utilizing various office equipment such as a personal computer, copying machine, and facsimile machine.
  • 2 years or more of experience maintaining databases, spreadsheets, and logs.
  • 2 years or more of experience working in a position that required processing invoices, payments, and managing financial accounts.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

  • You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
