Mortgage Underwriter - Join our underwriting team supporting broker loan processing. You'll evaluate applications, ensure compliance, and drive highquality decisions within a structured, endtoend workflow. What you'll do * Underwrite 2-3 new files/day and process 6-8 final approvals/day (volume dependent). * Partner with Loan Structure & Precision Income teams to finalize approvals. * Perform credit reviews and quality control; approve/deny loans promptly. * Ensure adherence to investor guidelines (FHA, HUD, VA, VA IRRRL, VA SAR, TrumsID Registration) and regulatory standards. * Collaborate with clients and compliance to resolve documentation issues. What you bring * 3+ years mortgage underwriting experience; strong FHA/VA/conventional knowledge. * Proficiency with AUS, Encompass, and Excel; understanding of HMDA and federal/state regs. * Preferred: FHA/HUD/VA credentials (incl. VA SAR) and TrumsID Registration. * (Note: Loss mitigation/servicing underwriting backgrounds are not eligible.) Schedule & training * Remote (state restrictions apply) * Shifts 8 AM - 5 PM or 9 AM - 6 PM EST * Extensive paid training 60-75 days (11:00 AM-6:00 PM EST) Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Raleigh, NC.
