Essential Job Duties
The Christmas Tree Genetics Lab in the College of Natural Resources is seeking a temporary Full Stack Software Engineer to build, deploy, and scale full-stack systems for ROOTS database and web application.

Essential duties and responsibilities include:

  • Building, deploying, and scaling full-stack systems for ROOTS database and web application.
  • Designing user flows based on requirements.
  • Writing clean, tested code.
  • Documenting user requirements and user stories.
  • Documenting design decisions, deployment guide, and how to use the app.

Minimum Experience/Education
BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.Proficiency in creating and deploying full-stack PWAs using React, TypeScript/JavaScript, HTML/ CSS/Tailwind, Express.js/Node.js, Docker, and PostgreSQL. Great analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Department Required Skills

  • Highly motivated; excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience managing a complex codebase and acting as a steward of good coding practices.
  • Ability to work well independently.

Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education
At least two years of programming experience including coursework. Proficiency with REST API, React, TypeScript, JavaScript, Express.js, Node.js, HTML/ CSS, Tailwind, Docker, PostgreSQL, Apache HTTP Proxy.
