POSITION SUMMARY:



  • The Divisional Vice President of Finance & Accounting reports to the Regional Chief Financial Officer
  • Located in Mansfield, MA
  • Hybrid
  • Salary $200,000


Position Overview

The Vice President, Finance & Accounting is a hands-on, operational finance leader responsible for overseeing all accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and financial planning activities. This role is critical to driving financial discipline, streamlining processes, improving visibility, and supporting profitable growth in a commercial food equipment organization. The VP will partner closely with operations, service, sales, and executive leadership to ensure financial rigor while enabling scale. This role requires deep technical accounting expertise combined with a practical, rollupyoursleeves mindset.


Key Responsibilities
Financial Leadership & Strategy


  • Serve as a strategic business partner to the executive team, providing clear financial insights to support decisionmaking.



  • Translate operational performance into actionable financial analysis tied to margins, cash flow, and profitability.



  • Support growth initiatives including new locations, acquisitions, and integration activities.




Accounting & Financial Reporting


  • Own all accounting operations including general ledger, monthend close, revenue recognition, job costing, inventory accounting, and fixed assets.



  • Ensure timely, accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.



  • Oversee external audits, tax filings, and coordination with external accounting firms.



  • Maintain strong internal controls and compliance with company policies and lender requirements.




Process Improvement & Systems


  • Lead the streamlining and standardization of finance and accounting processes across locations or business units.



  • Identify inefficiencies, automate manual processes, and improve close timelines and data accuracy.



  • Partner on ERP, accounting system, and reporting tool optimization or implementations.



  • Establish scalable processes that support a growing, multisite organization.




Operational Finance & Job Costing


  • Oversee job costing, WIP reporting, percentageofcompletion accounting (as applicable), and project margin analysis.



  • Partner with operations and project management to improve forecast accuracy, cost controls, and change order tracking.



  • Ensure accurate tracking of labor, materials, subcontractors, service revenue, and warranty costs.




Budgeting, Forecasting & FP&A


  • Lead the annual budgeting process and rolling forecasts.



  • Develop KPIs and dashboards focused on margin performance, labor efficiency, backlog, cash flow, and working capital.



  • Analyze variances and proactively identify risks and opportunities.




Cash Flow & Working Capital Management


  • Manage cash flow forecasting, AR/AP performance, inventory turns, and credit policies.



  • Improve billing accuracy, timeliness, and collections, particularly for projectbased and service revenue.



  • Partner with lenders and manage covenant compliance.




Team Leadership


  • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting team.



  • Set clear expectations, standard work, and accountability across the function.



  • Build a highperformance culture focused on accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement.




Qualifications
Required


  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.



  • 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting leadership experience.



  • Proven handson leadership experience in construction, specialty contracting, or commercial food equipment/services.



  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, job costing, revenue recognition, and projectbased accounting.



  • Experience streamlining processes and scaling finance operations in a growing organization.


  • Ability to successfully pass a background check post offer acceptance.


Preferred


  • CPA or MBA strongly preferred.



  • Experience in multilocation or decentralized operations.



  • ERP implementation, (JD Edwards) or optimization experience.




Leadership Profile


  • Highly handson and detailoriented with the ability to operate strategically.



  • Comfortable working closely with operations and field leadership.



  • Change agent who drives process improvement without disrupting the business.



  • Clear, direct communicator with strong executive presence.



The range provided represents the national average pay range for this position and is considered to be a general guideline. Pay for this position will reflect the candidate's unique qualifications and may be higher or lower than the range provided based on employee geographic location. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other local, state, and federal law.


In addition to base salary, this role will be eligible for participation in TriMark's' benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, 401K (with employer match), etc. Leadership positions may also qualify for participation in bonus programs commensurate with role and scope of responsibility.
