Job Description:

Position Details:

• Title: Telecom Engineer
• Employment Type: Contract (6+ months with potential extension)
• Work Mode: Onsite
• Location: Charlotte, NC
• Pay: $40-$45/hr

Role Overview:

This is a senior-level role focused on designing, engineering, and troubleshooting Motorola MotoTrbo radio systems. The position requires hands-on expertise in radio communication systems, including analysis, design, and implementation. The role will involve working with teams across the Carolinas West region, ensuring compliance with FCC regulations, and supporting multiple projects simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide technical expertise to solve complex radio communication problems.
• Design, develop, and troubleshoot Motorola MotoTrbo radio systems.
• Lead engineering studies, including interference and coverage analysis.
• Prepare detailed technical reports, documentation, and design plans.
• Ensure compliance with local and federal regulations, including FCC licensing.
• Manage and coordinate multiple projects within the Telecommunications department.

Required Experience & Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or 5+ years of radio engineering experience (or 10+ years of experience without a degree).
• Strong experience with Motorola MotoTrbo systems.
• Familiarity with FCC licensing and regulatory requirements.
• Experience with MS, Excel, and Visio for documentation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience working in the Energy/Utilities industry.
• Familiarity with intermodular frequency studies.
• Hands-on experience with radio code plugs and their creation.
