Cranberry Township, Butler County, is seeking summer 2026 interns for a unique opportunity with several Cranberry Township departments.
THOSE INTERESTED IN APPLYING TO THE SUMMER INTERNSHIP PROGRAM MAY ONLY SUBMIT THEIR APPLICATION TO ONE DEPARTMENT. Planning & Development Services plays a central role in shaping Cranberry Township's future, from enhancing the physical environment to improving the everyday lives of residents. The department helps guide new neighborhoods, commercial projects, public spaces, transportation improvements, and greenways connections while ensuring that development is thoughtful, sustainable, and aligned with the community's long-term vision. Duties for this position include, researching planning and zoning best practices, assisting with land development plan reviews, supporting data analysis, drafting internal reports, contributing to studies, greenway and open space planning, and streetscape projects. Intern may also have opportunities to observe the public-facing side of municipal planning by attending Planning Advisory Commission and Board of Supervisors meetings. The program will run from approximately May 18, 2026, through August 7, 2026. While interns will spend most of their time with the department they were hired on with, this internship will include events, presentations, facility tours, and volunteer activities to allow interns to get a sense of the entire Township operation. Applicants must be CURRENTLY ENROLLED in a POST-SECONDARY EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION. Students seeking an Associates, Bachelors, or Masters degree in a relevant major preferred.
