Role Summary: Reporting to the Sales Manager, the Product Specialist is a key member of the Galloup Sales team. The person in this role is responsible for establishing and nurturing relationships with various customers, engineers, and end users in concert with outside sales personnel and our principles and vendors. This role involves promoting products and or services, understanding client needs, and collaborating with internal teams to meet customers' requirements and sales targets.
Exciting work you will do: The essential duties and responsibilities of the Product Specialist will consist of, but are not limited to, the following:
- Develop and implement sales strategies in collaboration with Account Managers to support field activities and drive growth in the assigned territory
- Analyze field activities, identify areas for improvement, and implement changes to enhance productivity and efficiency
- Proactively seek out new prospects to expand the customer base and maximize sales opportunities within the assigned area
- Build and maintain customer relationships
- Resolve customer issues through multiple communication modalities, including in-person field visits, phone calls, and email
- Collaborate with Sales Team and vendors to support customer needs
- Support Account Managers on assigned product application, pricing and troubleshooting
- Generate profitable orders and meet or exceed the annual sales targets
- Establish a relationship of trust and confidence between Galloup, manufacturers, and customers
- Ensure that field activities, such as customer visits and walk-about surveys, are properly planned, organized, and executed to achieve maximum productivity and effectiveness
- Monitor all quotations generated, ensure that they are professionally followed-up to maximize sales
- Analyze reasons for unconverted quotations and recommend necessary changes to improve the conversion rate of future quotations into orders
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of the allocated customer base and stay informed about market activities and competitor actions within the segment Continuously enhance your skills and knowledge through company-sponsored training programs and self-study to uphold a high standard of product expertise and sales techniques
- Utilize acquired knowledge to create technical proposals, emphasizing benefits and improvements to plant efficiency for customers and prospects

What you'll need:
- Experience: 3 years' technical sales experience in a related field
- Education: High School diploma or GED
- Analytics/Computer Skills:Experience working with MS Office, especially Excel; mechanical aptitude; technical knowledge of institutional systems and applications
- Organization Skills:Highly organized and detail-oriented;
- Cross-functional skills:Ability to work well cross-functionally; provide excellent internal and external customer service; Excellent presentation skills
- Communication Skills:Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong negotiating and sales planning skills

Qualifications we prefer but don't require:
- Work Experience: Prior experience as a product specialist with similar products in an industrial environment
- Education:bachelor's degree in engineering or business
