Mechanical Engineering Intern

SmithGroup is looking for aMechanical Engineering Intern to join our team, with the position located in our Los Angeles, San Francisco or San Diego office.

Working with us, you will:

• Work on integrated architecture and engineering project design teams.
• Assist in the design of HVAC, plumbing and/or fire protection systems in Revit 3D modeling software.
• Perform heating and cooling load calculations using Trane Trace and/or IESVE.
• Calculate pressure drop and static pressure for air and hydronic systems.
• Participate in design meetings.
• Receive mentorship from experienced engineers.
• Visit a construction site(s) and/or completed project sites.

An ideal candidate has:

• Completed at least their sophomore year or have graduate standing in an accredited mechanical or architectural engineering program by the time of the internship.
• Some experience with Revit, Trane Trace and/or IESVE, and the Microsoft Office Suite.

The anticipated hourly rate for this position is $21.15 to $26.00 per hour, at the time of posting. You are eligible to receive overtime pay for hours worked beyond 40 in a work week.
