Job Summary

Scottsdale Community College (SCC) is seeking a full-time Student Services Analyst.

In order to meet the growing needs of the community, SCC has enhanced our high school outreach and recruitment model, to include embedded outreach and recruitment professionals within our local high schools. Located within the Scottsdale Unified School District, these individuals will be responsible for developing, coordinating, and evaluating the comprehensive site-based college enrollment program including the following elements: Early College connection and exploration, enrollment in dual/concurrent courses, ACE Program, JR ACE program and career and educational planning, first-year academic planning, financial aid literacy and education, application assistance and registration, and college placement procedures.

The Student Services Analyst is responsible for reviewing program requirements, evaluating criteria used to make eligibility decisions, researching program activities and recommending enhancements; evaluates policy to determine and ensure program compliance; and conducts surveys and/or analyzes and maintains program data to gauge program effectiveness. The optimal candidates will build lasting relationships with students, parents, high school personnel, community-based organizations, and SCC faculty and staff, to promote Scottsdale Community College and increase enrollment of SUSD students to SCC. The candidates will demonstrate a commitment to high school student recruitment, enrollment, and success as well as service excellence, innovation, integrity, and the ability to work independently to meet enrollment goals.

To best serve the students, department, and college, this position requires a physical presence on campus, with the possibility of partial remote work depending on business needs, and after 90 days upon approval. Standard Work Schedule w/ Nights & Weekends may be required.

Essential Functions

35% - Recruitment & Early Engagement
  • Coordinates and implements a college recruitment and enrollment program.
  • Builds connections with high school students, parents, and high school personnel to increase SCC enrollment.
  • Delivers educational planning in small and large group settings.
  • Provides information to high school students regarding academic degree and certificate programs.
  • Provides information on admissions, registration, program degree requirements, educational plans, and MCCCD policies and procedures.
  • Coordinates early career and educational planning and the selection and registration of dual/concurrent courses.

30% - Partnership Development & Program Guidance
  • Develops and maintains relationships with SCC faculty and staff, Early College programs, Dual/Concurrent Program, ACE Program, JR ACE program, Hoop of Learning, Recruitment, Admissions and Records, Marketing, academic department chairs, occupation program directors, and student affairs managers.
  • Builds a thorough understanding of the college culture, programs, and services.
  • Utilizes this understanding to help applicants fully understand and choose program options.

25% - Advising, Guidance & Data Analysis
  • Provides important services related to successful career planning, first-year college academic advising, pre-college testing, admission and enrollment assistance, and financial aid guidance.
  • Provides information to students regarding Arizona transfer pathways, transfer resources, and MCCCD program policies and procedures.
  • Maintains knowledge of a wide variety of information sources, including websites, printed materials, email, and Maricopa and university transfer agreements.
  • Collects and interprets data to make informed program decisions.
  • Monitors students' progress through the enrollment process and generates progress-to-goal reports.

10% - Student Services Collaboration & Outreach
  • Collaborates with and makes referrals to other student services programs and/or community agencies as needed.
  • Develops, coordinates, and participates in special programs designed to promote student outreach, recruitment, and retention.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


SUPERVISION EXERCISED
May serve as a lead worker assigning and monitoring the work of others or may supervise non-exempt level staff.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Receives general supervision and is expected to prioritize work to meet deadlines and to keep the supervisor informed of any unusual or irregular issues that would impact achievement of a deadline, a District policy or procedure or in consideration of risk management.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution and two (2) full-time equivalent years of student services or college teaching experience, or experience coordinating, administering, planning, or evaluating programs.

OR

An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation.

Desired Qualifications

A. Bachelor's or higher earned degree from a regionally accredited institution
B. Experience coordinating and implementing student success or retention-based workshops
C. Experience in at least one student services functional area such as recruitment, advisement, student life, testing, Dual Enrollment, ACE or financial aid, etc.
D. Experience planning and coordinating events
E. Experience with an on-line student information system
F. One (1) year of full-time, relevant MCCCD experience within the previous two years.

Special Working Conditions
  • Travel to campus during the interview/selection process will be at the candidate's own expense.
  • May be required to travel to other MCCCD locations, local high schools, middle schools, charter and private schools.
  • May be required to work evenings and weekends.
  • May require prolonged periods of sitting and viewing a computer screen.
  • May be required to lift or carry up to 25 lbs.
  • May work outdoors in a variety of temperatures and environmental conditions
  • This position requires a physical presence on campus with possible partial remote work depending on business needs to best serve the students, department, and college.
