Job Description:

The Vice President of Operations - Test and Measurement Equipment is responsible for leading FormFactor's global Systems and Emerging Growth Business Unit manufacturing network, spanning multiple international sites and external manufacturing partners. This executive will drive operational excellence, ensure worldclass product quality, and build a scalable, resilient global footprint that supports the company's growth in the semiconductor test and measurement systems market.

This role requires a strategic, hands-on operations leader with deep experience in multisite management, complex electromechanical manufacturing, external supply partnerships, and cross functional program execution.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Strategy & Leadership

  • Develop and execute the Systems and Emerging Growth BU operations strategy aligned with corporate objectives and long-term growth plans.

  • Lead, mentor, and develop high performing teams across global manufacturing, engineering, materials, and logistics functions.

  • Establish governance frameworks to harmonize KPIs, processes, and reporting across all global sites.

  • Drive a culture of accountability, operational discipline, and continuous improvement.

Global Manufacturing Oversight

  • Oversee Assembly, Integration, and Test operations across Systems and Emerging Growth operation sites. (Must be able to travel 50% internationally and domestically across our Systems global sites and other FormFactor locations)

  • Ensure production capacity meets demand while maintaining high yields and minimizing downtime.

  • Collaborate with engineering and R&D to ensure design-for-manufacturability (DfM) principles are applied.

External Manufacturing & Supply Chain Management

  • Manage external manufacturing partners (EMS/CMs) to ensure quality, cost, capacity, and delivery performance.

  • Develop dual sourcing strategies to enhance resilience and reduce risk.

Quality Control & Compliance

  • Ensure all Systems products meet stringent industry standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements.

  • Maintain compliance with global safety, environmental, and trade regulations.

  • Develop and implement business continuity, risk mitigation, and disaster recovery plans across all sites.

Financial Management & Budgeting

  • Develop and manage operational budgets across labor, materials, capital, and external manufacturing.

  • Analyze KPIs and financial performance to identify opportunities for cost reduction and margin improvement.

  • Drive capital efficiency and ensure ROI on major operational investments.

Collaboration & Cross-functional Teamwork

  • Partner with executive leadership to align operations with corporate strategy.

  • Collaborate with product development, marketing, and sales through SIOP processes to support product roadmaps and market demand.

Technology, Automation & Innovation

  • Implement advanced manufacturing technologies, automation, and AI to enhance efficiency and scalability.

  • Drive adoption of manufacturing frameworks (SPC, Kaizen, 5S, Lean, Six Sigma, DfX) to improve operational performance.

  • Benchmark performance against bestinclass KPIs and lead transformation initiatives to close gaps.

Key Deliverables:

  • Achieve measurable improvements in cost, yield, quality, and capital efficiency in the short and medium term.

  • Improve gross margin performance across economic cycles.

  • Establish a globally harmonized operational model with consistent KPIs and governance.

  • Develop a long-term global footprint strategy, including evaluation of new site locations.

  • Strengthen external manufacturing performance and supply chain resilience.

  • Deliver predictable execution of major cross-functional programs and site initiatives.

Desired Experiences:

  • Professional Experience: 20+ years in progressive leadership roles within large-scale operations.

  • Industry Background: 10+ years in semiconductor systems, equipment manufacturing, or related sectors.

  • Functional Expertise:

  • Multi-site or large-scale operations leadership (>1,000 personnel).

  • Deep knowledge of manufacturing systems, supply chains, and quality control.

  • Expertise in SPC, DfX, Kaizen, and operational analytics.

  • Proven ability to lead transformation and implement advanced technologies.

  • Global Expansion & Site Strategy Experience.

  • Evaluate new site locations, including labor markets, incentives, geopolitical risk, logistics, and cost modeling.

  • Develop and execute longterm global footprint strategies to support growth, resilience, and customer proximity.

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Business Administration or a related field.

  • Master's degree (MBA or similar) preferred.
