Commercial Litigation Associate

Venable LLP's Commercial Litigation Virginia Group seeks a junior to mid-level associate to join our team in the Tysons office.

Our team represents clients in a wide range of complex commercial litigation in both federal and state courts. The associate will be involved in all stages of litigation, from case development, discovery, and motion practice, to trial. The associate will have unparalleled opportunities to join a close-knit group of litigators that will mentor and train an associate in every aspect of complex litigation-analytical and writing skills, hands-on litigation and courtroom skills, and team management skills, while gaining greater responsibilities. The commercial litigation group in Tysons has an incredible team that has grown over the past decade without a single attorney leaving the group. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of experience in a law firm litigation practice and a strong interest in handling commercial disputes across a variety of industries and legal subject matters. The successful candidate is experienced at managing litigation workflow, including deadlines, filings, and multiple workstreams across matters. Strong legal writing and analytical skills, with experience drafting motions, briefs, and written discovery, is required. Experience litigating cases in the state courts in Northern Virginia and the Federal District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia is strongly preferred. Candidates with some deposition and large litigation experience are preferred. Dedication to professional development, a desire to work with and learn in a team setting, and excellent interpersonal skills is essential. Candidates must hold a juris doctorate degree from an accredited law school and be admitted to and in good standing with the Virginia Bar. Please include law school transcripts with submissions.

The salary range for associate positions is $215,000 to $355,000. The actual salary offered will be based on a number of job-related factors including, but not limited to, years of related experience, level of education, skills, credentials and certifications, responsibilities and performance.
