Summary of the Job:

Roving Bankers are scheduled to provide coverage in any location for associate vacations, illnesses, and leaves of absence or open positions. In accordance with established policies and procedures: a rover will create, retain and deepen relationships with potential and existing Financial Center customers while providing exceptional customer service at their assigned branch. The rover will be expected to perform duties ranging from sales and referrals, new account openings, and other duties/projects as assigned by the Associate Resource Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates commitment, dependability and respect for the team with regular and predictable attendance, punctuality, and agreed-upon schedule of availability. Travels to multiple financial centers providing critical support where needed.
  • Projects a professional image in dress, manner, communication and focus.
  • Promptly greets & assists customers as they arrive in the Financial Center and provides exceptional customer service throughout the interaction.
  • Consistently exceeds customer expectations for service as measured by observation coaching; resolves customer issues effectively and efficiently.
  • Responsible for using customer profile/relationship selling model for on-going profiling of new and existing customers in person and on the phone to identify immediate and future needs.
  • Understands all features and benefits of bank and partner products. Uses needs assessment and consultative selling techniques to sell, cross-sell, up-sell, or refer products and services.
  • Proactively works towards achievement of individual and financial center sales and service goals.
  • Fulfills expectations to meet individual goals monthly, quarterly and annually as per the Roving Banker standards.
  • Completes customer transactions, maintenance, and documentation with accuracy and efficiency; Staying in accordance with policies and procedures as well as applicable laws and regulations.
  • Expected to follow all bank policies and procedures and maintain confidentiality of customer information.
  • Process all types of teller transactions accurately according to policy & procedure including: deposits, cashing checks, cash advance, cashier's checks, money orders, loan payments, travel and gift cards, check reorders.
  • Rotate between banker desk and teller line to accommodate Financial Center need.
  • Manages time to work on projects or other tasks as assigned by the Associate Resource Manager if not assigned to a Financial Center for coverage.
  • You are required to have extreme flexibility and reliable transportation to travel to all financial centers when needed.

Job Qualifications/ Required Skills and Abilities:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Prior banking experience or retail sales*service experience including cash handling preferred
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent, proactive sales and service skills
  • Able to handle multiple tasks.
  • You are required to have extreme flexibility and reliable transportation to travel to all financial centers when needed. (Mileage reimbursement)
  • Exhibit and maintain high degree of professionalism
  • Maintain high degree of confidentiality and integrity
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively and professionally at all levels of the organization through every channel of communication.
  • Must be willing to make outbound phone calls to existing customer base.
  • Excellent follow through and time management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Proficient in PC, web and database
  • MUST possess a "can do" customer-service attitude/philosophy
