The Director, Global Engineering Technical Services & Governance plays a critical leadership role in advancing Agropur's capital investment strategy and driving operational excellence across the organization. This role provides enterprise-wide direction for engineering governance, capital project management, and technical standards, ensuring disciplined project execution, portfolio transparency, and alignment with Agropur's investment framework. By combining strategic oversight with deep technical expertise, the Director ensures that capital projects-from sustaining investments to major growth initiatives-are delivered with consistency, rigor, and longterm value, while optimizing the allocation of CAPEX resources in support of the company's strategic priorities. What's involved in this role:
- Lead and continuously improve Agropur's capital governance framework, including project lifecycle standards, stage gates, quality gates, and enterprise project controls
- Oversee portfolio performance and CAPEX optimization, providing visibility on KPIs, forecasts, risks, and investment prioritization across a large, multi-site project portfolio
- Drive disciplined project execution through robust cost, schedule, scope, risk, change management, and earned value practices
- Lead post-project evaluations, benchmarking, and continuous improvement initiatives in partnership with Finance and Operations
- Manage a centralized Technical Services organization, including SMEs, estimators, drafters, and automation specialists supporting global projects
- Define, maintain, and govern engineering standards, design guidelines, and preferred technologies across multiple manufacturing facilities
- Oversee technical design reviews, value engineering, innovation trials, and technical risk management initiatives
- Champion standardization of automation architectures, utilities, and vendor specifications to improve scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency
- Establish and lead a Center of Excellence (CoE) for project management and technical services, including tools, templates, playbooks, and knowledge systems
- Create a strong knowledgesharing and competencybuilding culture through peer reviews, lessons learned, and bestpractice adoption
- Act as a key integrator across Engineering, Operations, FSQ, EHS, Procurement, Finance, Legal, and external partners, ensuring alignment and compliance
- Lead and develop talent through mentorship, resource planning, training, succession planning, while reinforcing a strong culture of safety, accountability, and GMP compliance
What you need to join our team:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent technical discipline, with professional engineering credentials (P.Eng/PE) preferred
- Extensive executive leadership experience (15-20 years) in capital project delivery, engineering governance, or enterprise technical services within complex manufacturing or food processing organizations
- Recognized capability to establish and lead enterprise PMO functions, engineering standards, and robust project governance frameworks
- Broad and deep technical expertise spanning automation, utilities, packaging operations, energy systems, and sustainable engineering solutions
- Proven leadership of large, multi-site engineering organizations and cross-functional stakeholder groups
- High level of financial sophistication with demonstrated success in capital allocation, forecasting, earned value management, and CAPEX performance optimization
- Technical Leadership & Expertise - Provides hands-on technical direction across plant systems, utilities, automation, packaging, and engineering standards to ensure operational reliability and performance
- Operational Excellence & Execution - Drives consistent results through disciplined planning, standardized processes, and strong execution followthrough in complex manufacturing environments
