As a Security Officer - Cargo Screening in Indianapolis, IN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As a Screener with Allied Universal at a fast-paced logistics and distribution location, you will monitor access points, conduct screening activities, and perform routine patrols and presence to help reduce security-related incidents. You will communicate clearly with team members and site personnel, document observations, and support smooth daily operations with strong customer service. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and associates by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a logistics and distribution location.
• Conduct entry screening of personnel, visitors, and vendors as assigned, which may include walkthrough screening, handheld screening, and inspection of carried items in accordance with post orders.
• Control access points by checking identification, validating credentials, issuing temporary badges as directed, and directing individuals to the appropriate check-in process.
• Screen deliveries, parcels, and outbound items as assigned to help to deter prohibited items and/or unauthorized removal of property.
• Monitor assigned screening area for suspicious activity, policy violations, and/or unsafe behavior, and report concerns promptly per site procedures.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including notifying site leadership and/or emergency services as directed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of interior and exterior areas, including docks, staging areas, and perimeter routes, as required by post orders.
• Complete detailed reports and logs for incidents, access denials, screening results, and other security-related activity before the end of shift.
• Use radios, phones, and site systems to communicate clearly with Allied Universal management and client representatives regarding routine operations and emerging issues.
• Support traffic flow at entrances, exits, and dock areas as assigned, providing directions and assisting with queue management during high-volume periods.

Minimum Requirements:

• Ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
• X-Ray screening experience is preferred.
• Loss prevention experience is preferred.
• Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
