Transportation Practice Lead

Position Overview

Woolpert is hiring a Transportation Practice Leaderto join our dynamic Transportation Team in our growing Texas Market. This position reports to the Transportation Market Directorand is responsible forspearheading strategic growth, operational excellence, and innovation within Woolpert's Transportation Market. This role combines the firmwide Practice Leader leadership framework with Transportation-specific responsibilities, ensuring alignment with market strategies and objectives. The Practice Leader serves as the primary business leader for the practice, accountable for financial performance, client satisfaction, and talent development.

What You Will Do:

• Strategic Leadership: Align practiceobjectiveswith Woolpert's VS3 plans and develop annual goals that promote industry leadership. Define and execute the practice's strategic plan, ensuring integration with corporate initiatives and cross-sector collaboration.
• Market Growth: Expand service offerings through advanced technologies and partnerships with acquiredfirms. Drive business development, including sales forecasting, pipeline accuracy, and proposal oversight for Transportation projects.
• Project Management: When appropriate/necessary serve as overall project manager on Transportation projects. These are likely to be larger projects and/or projects where the Practice Leaderpossessunique skillsets or technical expertise required for the execution of the project. When not managing projects, Practice Leader will apply their project management skills to monitor the progress and health of projects within the Practice.
• Operational Excellence: Monitor KPIs, revenue goals, backlog, and utilization metrics; implement corrective actions as needed. Ensure compliance with Woolpert's project management standards and Transportation-specific workflows.
• Collaboration: Foster integration across practices and sectors to deliver comprehensive solutions. Partner with Market Directors and Discipline Leaders to optimizeresource allocation and project delivery.
• Career Development: Implement structured career pathways for project managers and technical staff. Support training compliance and mentorship programs to build leadership capacity within the practice.
• Governance & Authority: Maintainsigning authority for Transportation proposals and contracts per corporate guidelines. Ensure adherence to Woolpert's risk management and quality assurance standards.

What You Will Bring:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineeringor related field; PE license preferred.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in transportation engineering and project management.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex projects.
• Strong business acumen with experience in sales forecasting and market strategy.
