Position Overview

This role can be based in Denver, CO in alignment with our flexible work policy (3 days onsite, 2 days flexible) or open to remote.

Vantage Data Centers is seeking a Director, Strategic People Initiatives to drive enterprise-wide People & Culture programs that enable scale, operational excellence, and an exceptional employee experience across North America. This role partners closely with the SVP, People & Culture, HR Business Partners, and People Centers of Excellence to translate people strategy into measurable, high-impact initiatives aligned with corporate objectives.

Serving as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, this director will lead cross-functional people programs, establish governance and operating rhythms, and deliver executive-level insights, reporting, and board materials. The ideal candidate brings strong business acumen, deep program leadership experience, and the ability to drive organizational change in a fast-growing, global environment.

This is not a transactional HR role. It is designed for a strategic leader motivated to shape the future of the employee experience through process, data, governance, and enterprise-scale execution.

Essential Job Functions

Strategic Leadership & Enterprise Program Oversight

  • Partner with the SVP, People & Culture and People leadership team to lead the execution of strategic people initiatives aligned with Vantage's long-term growth and talent strategy
  • Establish and manage portfolio governance, prioritization, and approval frameworks for People & Culture programs
  • Drive integrated planning across HR Business Partners and Centers of Excellence to align workforce initiatives, resources, and outcomes
  • Serve as the People & Culture lead for executive and board-level reporting, presentations, and strategic updates

People Program Design, Governance & Standardization

  • Build and refine scalable frameworks for initiative intake, planning, execution, measurement, and closure across People & Culture
  • Standardize operating models, program management practices, and reporting tools to support consistency and transparency
  • Partner with Centers of Excellence including Talent Acquisition, Compensation, Learning & Development, People Analytics, and HRIS to deploy best practices and improve cross-functional execution

Reporting, Analytics & Executive Insights

  • Own North America People Experience dashboards, KPIs, and performance metrics in partnership with People Analytics
  • Translate complex people data into clear, actionable executive insights and recommendations
  • Lead preparation of board materials, executive briefings, MBRs, and ad hoc analyses to support informed decision-making
  • Evaluate and implement opportunities for automation, AI, and other technologies to enable faster decision making

Stakeholder Engagement & Change Leadership

  • Act as a central connector across HR, Finance, Legal, Operations, and business leadership to advance people initiatives
  • Facilitate alignment and communication across senior leaders, HR partners, and functional teams
  • Support organizational design, workforce planning, and change management efforts to enable scalability and operational efficiency

Operational Excellence & Strategic Counsel

  • Provide objective, data-driven counsel to People & Culture leadership on risks, opportunities, and prioritization
  • Champion a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration across the HR organization
  • Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and emerging needs, proactively designing solutions that support business growth
  • Additional duties as assigned by Management

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or related field required
  • MBA or advanced degree strongly preferred
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in HR program leadership, people operations, strategic initiatives, or organizational effectiveness
  • Demonstrated success leading enterprise-level, cross-functional initiatives within a fast-growing or complex organization
  • Experience partnering with executive leadership and preparing board-level materials
  • Strong expertise in program and portfolio management, governance, and organizational scaling
  • Exceptional ability to synthesize complex information into clear executive-level narratives
  • Highly analytical with strong data visualization, reporting, and storytelling capabilities
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and influencing skills across all organizational levels
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and HR reporting tools
  • Highly organized, adaptable, and comfortable operating with ambiguity and minimal direction

  • High-quality, accurate executive and board-level reporting that drives informed decisions
  • Positive stakeholder feedback on partnership, impact, and execution

  • Travel required is expected to be up to 20% but may increase over time as the business evolves

Additional Details

  • Salary Range: $170,000 - $180,000 Base + Bonus (this range is based on Colorado market data and may vary in other locations)
  • This position is eligible for company benefits including but not limited to medical, dental, and vision coverage, life and AD&D, short and long-term disability coverage, paid time off, employee assistance, participation in a 401k program that includes company match, and many other additional voluntary benefits.
  • Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including your qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.
