- Prepare project specifications, basis of design, design intent, proposals, and fee budgets.
- Coordinate the preparation of design details, plans, and drawings within the assigned discipline.
- Follow instructions in designing, estimating, managing start-up, and planning jobs.
- Troubleshoot issues and refer complex problems to the project manager.
- Assist in supervising, scheduling, and reviewing the work of project team members.
- Provide limited coordination with outside contractors and collaborate closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.
- Work with cross functional teams to understand and resolve conflicts, escalating unresolved issues to the project manager.
- Monitor construction costs and ensure quality installation for assigned projects while tracking job status and controlling costs.
- Implement quality assurance programs to improve client satisfaction.
- Assume engineering duties when appropriate and apply standard engineering concepts and procedures.
- Review and integrate vendor and client drawings, preparing comprehensive construction documents that meet client and project team requirements.
- Respond to RFIs and prepare change bulletins under supervision
- Conduct job site surveys, field observations, and develop project punch lists as needed.
- Coordinate project assignments with other engineers and technicians, delegating tasks to engineers, designers, and BIM technicians.
- Manage the drawing and design of complex projects, research code issues, and document findings to report to supervising engineers.
- Interact with clients, assist with technical studies and assessments, and perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering
- Minimum of 7+ years of experience with an engineering consulting firm or AIE firm is preferred, with a focus on design for healthcare, institutional, commercial, educational, municipal, and industrial projects, or construction engineering.
- PE (Professional Engineer) is required
- Proficiency with Revit, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office Suite, along with strong organizational and planning skills, is necessary to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, an understanding of job financial reports, and a commitment to continuous learning, including attending seminars and professional development programs.
