The Opportunity

Adobe Document Cloud AI & Innovation team is looking for a Senior Machine Learning Engineer. We are the team behind Acrobat AI Assistant and Adobe Liquid Mode which was featured on TIME's Best Invention of 2024 and 2023 respectively! We are looking for someone who will architect and lead key AI and machine learning initiatives to help Adobe deliver state of the art document experiences to its customers. Partnering with the business units, the candidate will be building various products that address challenging business problems related to document viewing, editing, creation, etc.

By using machine learning techniques, the candidate will work on the research and development of exciting projects such as Acrobat AI Assistant, PDF Spaces and various other GenAI capabilities for Documents.

The ideal candidates will have previous experience shipping products for the last few years, as well as technical skills in machine learning and software development, and leadership experience in driving large and complex machine learning projects to successful completion. In this role your work will have the potential to have a positive impact on the lives of hundreds of millions of people across the world!

What You'll Do
  • Architect complex Generative AI capabilities for comprehending, editing, and creating documents.
  • Develop predictive models trained on large-scale datasets to address various business problems with sophisticated machine learning techniques
  • Develop and implement scalable and efficient ML models that can work with large-scale data in production systems running on mobile devices with limited memory and compute
  • Collaborate with product management and engineering groups to develop new products and features
What You Need to Succeed
  • Deep understanding of machine learning, deep learning, and a track record of solving problems with these methods
  • Extensive experience in leading development of and architecting large and complex ML (including GenAI) systems that serve millions of users.
  • Proficient in one or more programming languages such as Python, Java, Objective C or C++
  • Familiar with machine learning tools such as PyTorch or TensorFlow
  • Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving ability
  • Excellent leadership, communication, relationship skills and a strong team player
  • PhD or MS degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Electrical Engineering, Applied Math, Operations Research, Econometrics or equivalent experience required
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this positionis $190,200 -- $345,650 annually. Paywithin this range varies by work locationand may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills,and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process.
In California, the pay range for this position is $238,700 - $345,650

At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).

In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
